Downtown Concerts & Movies

Join in for some Spring and Summer fun in downtown Shallotte, NC for the “Downtown Shallotte Concerts & Movies Series” . There will be concerts and movies  from May 26 through August 17th in Rourk Garden on Main Street (across from Jerome’s Steak House. The concerts start at 7:00pm and all movies will begin at dusk.

Here is the “Downtown Shallotte Concerts & Movies Series” Schedule:

May 26 – Band of Oz – Concert featuring Beach music by one of the Carolina’s favorite Beach music bands. There will also be a Memorial Day Celebration to honor our local Vetaerans from 6-7pm followed by the concert from 7 – 9pm

June 14 - The Spare Change Band - Concert featuring Beach & Variety

July 5 – UBU The Band - Concert featuring Beach & Variety

July 19 – The Embers - Concert featuring Beach music by one of the Carolina’s favorite Beach music bands.

August 9 – Hip Pocket Band - Concert featuring Variety

August 23 – Holiday Band – Concert featuring Beach & Variety

MOVIES:

June 1 – The Muppets

July 13 -  Puss In Boots

July 27 -  Hugo

August 17th -  Kung Fu Panda 2

 

Spring Fitness Programs

Starting January 1, 2012 the Brunswick County Parks & Recreation Dept., in conjunction with The Winds Resort Beach Club, is offering three great fitness classes. The classes are open to the public but guests of The Winds Beach Resort can participate in two of the three classes at either greatly reduced fees or for free!

Fresh Strawberries!

It’s strawberry time! Holden Brother’s Produce and Indigo Farm’s strawberries are ripe for the picking. From now until early June the strawberry fields are open for pick-your-own groups. They take groups of any size out to their enormous strawberry fields armed with buckets and let them go to town.

There’s no better way to enjoy juicy strawberries this time of year than by picking your own. It’s a fun way to get family and friends together for a good old-fashioned time.

The Shallotte Farmers Market begins it’s sixth year opening for the season on April 28th, 2012. The Shallotte, NC Farmers’ Market is held every Saturday, April 28th through October 6th from 8:00am until 12:00noon. Here you will find locally grown fruits and vegetables as well as handcrafted items such as pottery, jewelry, glassware and homemade bread, cakes and cookies. Enjoy shopping in the open air filled with music by local musicians.

Planetarium Sky Theater Shows

When: Hourly Shows on Fridays and Saturdays
