New Food Lion Opens

A new Food Lion store is now open for business in Shallotte! The grand opening was held on Wednesday May 13th. The nearly 35,000-square-foot store is located in a brand new shopping center at 301 S. Willis Drive off of hwy 179 on the way to Ocean Isle Beach.

The store is the “anchor store” in the center which will soon have other retail stores in the smaller spaces for lease to the left nd right of the Food Lion.

The store will employ about 60 people, with a net gain of 30 jobs. Food Lion’s Main Street store closed Tuesday.
