Walking on the beach is fun – but imagine how much more interesting it would be if someone came with you who could identify the shells, plants, and animals you were looking at and tell you something about them!
On Sept. 29, Museum of Coastal Carolina education coordinator Allison Smith will be your tour guide as you walk along Ocean Isle Beach. Meet in the Museum lobby at 11:00. Expect to spend an hour walking on the beach and getting a crash course in beach ecology. Wear appropriate clothing for a beach walk. Plan on getting your feet wet. In case of inclement weather, Smith will conduct an indoor program about the beach.
The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street on Ocean Isle Beach, NC. The beach walk is free for Museum members. Non-member all-day admission to the Museum, which includes the beach walk, is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, $4 for children ages 3-4, and free for ages 2 and under.
