Thanksgiving is a great time to come to the beach anyway but the Saturday following Turkey Day is going to be a real blast as Ocean Isle Beach celebrates the upcoming Christmas season in a big way! It’s called Super Saturday, It starts with the Christmas Parade and is followed by the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony with a visit with Santa on Saturday evening, and then the finale — a Christmas Boat Flotilla and wrapping up with a big party at Sharky’s ending the super day that evening.
On Saturday, November 24th, residents and businesses decorate their golf carts and other vehicles for the annual Christmas Parade which starts on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. (lineup at 1:30).
Then at 4:30 p.m, the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Causeway, on the mainland side of the bridge, across the street from the Fire Department begins. Bring your Christmas spirit and your best singing voice because this is where we get together for some caroling. That evening, Santa will make his appearance at the Ocean Isle Beach Fire Department with hot cocoa and treats!
But, as always, the best is saved for last as everyone heads over to Sharky’s Waterfront Restaurant to watch the 14th Annual Christmas Flotilla and Party to benefit Hope Harbour Domestic Violence Shelter. Sharky’s will hosting a big shindig and local bands will kick off an evening of music, dancing, and fun after the awards.
Make it a weekend out of these events! The street parade is a lot of fun for the whole family and the Flotilla Party at Sharky’s Waterfront Restaurant is a ball, all for a great cause!
